Basic Training Certificate (BTC) is a certificate level educational course. The course is designed for training teachers for appointment of primary teachers in government and private primary schools to teach students up to class V. BTC is aimed at training teachers for imparting primary school teacher education. It is professional certificate course which is job oriented and open avenue for the role of teachers. The eligibility criteria for BTC is graduation degree in most the states of India. Admission process varies in different state but is generally based on written test. BTC is mandatory qualification for seeking Government Primary teacher job. In case you are seeking Government teacher job you can opt between BTC or B.Ed depending area of your choice. Nowadays even private sector primary schools teacher’s eligibility criteria is BTC.
