Yo can pursue B.Ed after completing BA rather than M.A in English or sociology. This will help you to get a teaching job. Otherwise, opt for MA in sociology and then you can go for social work or research work in the same field.

Candidates with at least fifty five (55) percent marks either in the Bachelors degree and/or in the Masters degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity, Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialisation in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme. The candidate should have two years full-time teaching experience on temporary/permanent basis as Primary/Graduate/Post Graduate teacher in a primary, secondary/higher/senior secondary school with registration number recognised by the respective Directorate of Education or Central or State Government or Union Territory. So, you can apply for B.Ed in IGNOU.
