It is not an easy questions to answer. As we all say about engineer that engineers are most unemployed degree holders but its not true fact. There are lots of good engineers currently working in very good technologies. I would prefer to go with engineering.

Both fields have a lot of scope, to be frank. Medical Science is a vast field of study in itself, while engineering is all about solving problems, and advancement in technology. If employment is your concern, it is engineering which offers you a job on campus at the end of four years, which is usually low paying. A medical degree, followed by specialisation, and work experience over the years guarantees you a long lasting career. Engineering is a four year course which usually results in a job offer in the fourth year itself. If you choose to pursue a medical degree, do note that you'll need to put in a decade of hard work and dedication, before you have a stable career. A lot depends on your interest, and this can be distinguished at school itself. If a student loves studying biology in the 11th and 12th standard, the student is more likely to make a career out of it in medical science. Then comes engineering, which involves a lot of disciplines. Depending on the area of interest and expertise, the choice is to be made here.

It is one of the best question which I had come across. Most of people are saying that, “engineering has lost its scope. And there no job for the many students. But, literally it is not. Not only the number of engineering students have increased, but also the demand for the engineers have also increased as the technology is getting updated in a great way. The phone which was considered the latest one before six months have become older within five months. And people should change the perception about engineering. Parents expect their engineering kids to have job at the end of 4th year. But, the engineers are not meant for that. The actual meaning of engineering is creator. So, instead to planning to get placed in company at the end of 4th year, try to create your own product (startup). And my advice would be that if you like a course, just select that course. Never look at the scope and other things. Because, the only way to work successfully is to love what you do. And, to be successful one should have enough guts to follow his or her heart and intuition. You can only be successful, only if you are doing what you love. Unless or until you love what you do, you can’t be successful.

These two fields are very different from each other. Both the fields have plenty of career opportunities. Engineers work for the betterment of society and advancement of technologies whereas medical line students generally deal with the functioning of body parts and it's treatment. Many students regret after taking medical and many regrets after engineering. So, I will suggest you to choose one according to your interest. If you are interested in biology then choose medical line otherwise go with engineering. You will surely get opportunities in both the fields. Again, both the fields are divided into few sub categories which you can choose according to your comfort. These days engineering is the first choice of most of the students. Many engineers end up getting a job in banking line and many ends up getting a job in defence line. The technical degree will help you a lot. Economic condition is one of the major reason for many students who choose to engineer. So if money is not an issue for you then you may choose the medical line. Fee is also very high for private medical colleges. I will personally suggest you to go with your interest because at the end of the day it's your life and you yourself have to deal it.

It is not a good thing to compare two different streams but technically speaking the truth is that there are a lot of engineers in India now who are jobless but there is a less number of qualified doctors in India.

Basically, its not about the scope. Its all depending on your interest. As the world is too competing you must have the skills to excel in this world. So, search for your interests and choose the field in which you are interested.
