Whatever specialisation you take, there is going to be a common subject in your first year. The level of difficulty will be different from individual to individual. May be, law is very easy for me, PMS is very easy for me but same may not be in your case. Irrespective of specialisation you chose, you need to give equal number of assignments, project and time. So, first check what is your aptitude and interest, your own capability, career dimension and then choose your specialisation. As far as the scope is concerned, scope in terms of what? There is CMOs for those who have become CEOs, there are CHROs who have also become CEOs. Salary, you cannot decide your career by thinking salary scope. Even HR heads are earning equivalent to a CMOs but this is purely due to their own ability.Choose wisely.

Irrespective of the specialization, you can opt for marketing or HRM. In terms of difficulty, it is dependent on individual to individual. According to me, HRM would be a bit tougher as subjects like labour laws, psychology influenced subjects are taught. Whereas, marketing can be managed, if you start connecting the concepts taught to current happenings across the world, field assignments given also helps in understanding the practical scenario in a better manner.

In my view, marketing is a bit tougher as compared to HR, as former needs more of your analytical and reasoning skills and rapid changes in current market scenario making it tougher. On the other hand HR issues and problems are more of traditional kind and fixed tools and techniques are known. So, I personally feel marketing bit challenging as compared to HR.

Before choosing your specialisation, it would be advisable to retrospect the kind of person you are. If you are a outgoing person, too lots of energy to drain, with love to travel, networking person, then marketing is the thing for you. MBA marketing will not only build but also polish all these likings of yours, if you are prefer to not do a field job, are a people person, are more of policies and processes person, then HR is perfect match. Coming to the point of difficulty - LKG is difficult for LKG students. So if cannot decide on the kind of person you are, then of course any course will be difficult. Point of scope - If you find a course difficult for 2 years, then surely there is no scope for next 40 years. So choose wisely.

It depends on your interest level in the above-mentioned fields of MBA. Both of the fields provide immense opportunities and pay level is also very nice. In comparison, marketing is a more of a field-oriented job where one has to work in the market and collect on-ground information. HR is more kind of an office oriented job where one will have to manage organisation's workforce.
