First, you have to understand that the STEP programme offered by Oberoi is more like a job where you learn every day by working in the hotel itself. Though you will not be paid for your work. Oberoi neither bestow any Bachelor's degree nor teach you for the IGNOU exams which will consequently earn you a Bachelor's degree in hotel management. The biggest gamble in taking the STEP programme is that you can't be sure if you will be allowed to retain your job after the program ends. I look at the brighter side then yes, you will learn much more about this program than you will be able to learn in IHM, Mumbai. Whereas in IHM, Mumbai it's like going to college. You have to attend classes, give exams. You will attend functions and go for industrial training in a hotel in the 2nd year. And at the end of 3rd year, you will appear for placements. Ultimately, the choice is yours!
