If we compare CAT and MAT, then CAT is more difficult to MAT. MAT is the easier version of CAT. Course wise there is no difference in the syllabus of two, only the level of questions are different. Questions in CAT are much difficult from those of MAT. So, without much worrying about MAT. If we have enough preparation for CAT then clearing MAT will be the he of right hand.

There is nothing such thing called tougher to crack or easy to crack. This view depends upon the preparation of the exam you are planning to take. There are a number of exams conducted in India for the MBA. Exams like CAT, XAT, GMAT, MAT, IBSAT, NMAT, SNAP, etc., have some minor tweaking and variations apart from the main sections. Each of these exams have quantitative aptitude, verbal reasoning, logical reasoning and data interpretation, apart from GK or essay writing section in some of the exams. So, you have to prepare accordingly for these exams either by taking coaching classes, correspondence course, by self-preparation or by following recommended books. After you have prepared for the most difficult level questions, you may try to get some question banks for the specific exam you are targeting either offline mode I.e. books for exams or online mode I.e. free question banks websites or paid question banks for practice.

Either CAT/MAT/CMAT is considered so give all of them. CAT is tougher though. IIMs require 90% above scores. Also, a good percentage is needed in graduation. GDPI performance is a key factor in the best Schools.

CAT is bit tougher than MAT. The reason behind this is the topics which are asked in CAT exam, and similar topics are asked in MAT exam. So thus this both exams are almost same but the thing differs is difficulty level. So try to prepare for CAT exam because this can make you best score in MAT. There are many good Institutes like NIT Warangal, Institute of Finance and International Management-Bangalore, etc. are also giving admission through MAT. CAT exam includes Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and MAT exam includes Reading Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, Data Analysis, Mathematical Skills, etc. So both the exams have similar content, so preparing for CAT exam can cover MAT exam also.
