Both the streams have their own scope and it depends on your interest that which stream you choose. But, I will suggest you B.Sc biotechnology because it has more scope than microbiology. Microbiology is a part of biotechnology only. So, you should opt for B.Sc biotechnology.

). JAM aspirants can either opt for M.Sc. or PhD or M.Sc. plus PhD Dual degree professional courses offered by the IITs and IISc. Although, each IIT institute offers specialized courses in its respective manner. JAM (Joint Admission Test) 2017 is scheduled to be held on 12th February, 2017. Being microbiology a part of Biotechnology only, reference from my side favours Biotechnology. However, it mostly depends on you only whether you want to specialize in Microbiology only. Biotechnology, in it, includes not only microbiology but also, molecular biology, genetic engineering, and cell culture as well. Keeping in mind that which subject you would like to specialize in, you can choose the subject. I hope my answer help you in any way.
