Let me start with Science-

Lakhmeer Singh and Manjeet Kaur (S CHAND publications). The explanation is crisp and the books are photographic. Even a non-reader can enjoy their books.

And Mathematics?

Get this right, you may practice those topics you don’t understand well from RD Sharma, but I won’t recommend you solving the entire book. As soon as you rack up your NCERT, take down those previous years’ (U-like).

And now, the most important part, don’t even touch any reference books/guides for SST, Enlglish, Hindi etc. I tried the best-selling Hindi reference in 10th, only to realise that it is filled up with answers which could be written even by a 10 year old. Plus, you can understand well from NCERT alone when it comes to languages and arts.

Don’t get me wrong, do buy previous years’ for all subjects, but be very cautious when it comes to non-Science subjects. The U-Like answers for English, Hindi etc are terrible. I would recommend you solving them by yourself and getting them checked by your teacher.

I tried Shiv Das for SST. No, it’s not a good book. Some answers are good while others are just stupid, idiotic, NCERT copy-pastes. Many of the answers just don’t answer the question, but foolishly wander around the topic in circular motion, a characteristic of non-meritorious Arts students.

For maths first you need to complete your ncert then if you feel like and you “can” just go through the examples of rd sharma. After that trying some sample papers(preferably from u like) is a must, you can even skip rd sharma if there is lack of time but don't leave sample papers.

For science stick to ncert and practise numerical problems of mole cocept and all the electricity related chapters of physics. I never enjoyed biology so just cramed my class notes and some ncert text . Don't forget to practise diagrams for biology.

For social studies you need to remember everything. So if you can learn the text from your ncert and write your answers then go for it otherwise u like has copied the whole ncert but presented it in question answer form which makes it a bit easy to remember besides one mark objective questions are also helpful(if they still come in exam).

Hope it helps.

All the best.
