I am currently working on creating API for my Android and iOS application. I have a complex database (mysql) with 70 tables. I am writing API's using a PHP framework- CakePHP 2.x version, which I already familiar with. I have some questions

  1. Which is the best technology to write API, should I continue with PHP or something else
  2. I already heared about google Firebase, how it helpful for me(I'm already using it for sending push notification)
  3. Can I use Firebase to write API's, host my API's and mySQL database in Firebase?
  4. I also heared Amazon API Gateway, is that applicable for my development?
  5. How can I manage authentication and authorization of each request? Should I use OAuth to authenticate each API request from the mobile?
