For D.El.Ed, the basic eligibility is 10+2 and on the other hand B.Ed basic eligibility is 10+2+3. In other words for D.El.Ed a candidate must completed his/her senior secondary and for B.Ed, a candidate must completed his/her Graduation. If you want to teach at Elementary level, you should go for D.El.Ed and if you want to teach Higher school or higher secondary. It is upto you which one level you want to teach. However, B.Ed is a step ahead or advance of D.El.Ed.

Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) programme is a specifically designed package for in service untrained teachers working in primary/ upper primary schools of different states of the country. The programme has been developed on the initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India, keeping in view the NCF 2005, RTE 2009 and NCFTE 2010. The Programme aims at enabling the target group to develop in them skills, competencies, attitudes and understanding to make teaching and learning more effective. Teachers who are undergoing D.El.Ed. can pursue any other graduation degree in distance learning mode.A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is an undergraduate professional degree which prepares students for work as a teacher in schools. It is recommended that it will be better to do B.Ed in distance learning mode on completion of regular D.El.Ed for better learning.
