Computer science and engineering is among the best engineering fields in India and abroad. CSE branch offers the highest employment in our country The placements at National Institute of Technology, Surathkal for Computer Science and Engineering is really very good. The placement ratio is almost 95 to 100%. Many multinational IT companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, etc., visit the campus every year and take students from here. The average package is around 12 to 15 LPA. Since CSE is among the evergreen fields, the placements of this branch will increase with a good amount of package. Companies like Tata Motors, Tech Mahindra, Reliance Industries and L&T are the bulk recruiters. Other than these companies, many companies like ITC, Zydus, Torrent, Sun pharma, Apollo, Ultratech, etc., recruits students from here. All the credit goes to the training and placement cell department of NIT, Surathkal. So, it is really good to do Computer Science and Engineering from reputed institute or university if someone is really interested in this and is in the search of better packages and further studies. The placement ratio of NIT Surathkal is almost 100 % and in future, it will be like this only for Computer Science. Engineering and other top engineering fields. Many international companies and business corporates are offering placements to quality engineers of IT and Computer branch.

The placements of this college is quite good and the highest pack of this branch is 70 Lacs per annum, plus perks and some good companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, PayPal, Samsung, Walmart, DE Shaw, Morgan Stanley visits this campus every year.

NIT-Surathkal ranks 3rd for placements by NASSCOM in the year 2016 and also ranks 22 by NIRF since last two years. Some excellent dedication seen by TPO and assistance given by Placements Committee in bringing top companies in designing MOU for 3-years consecutively. For CSE students, some special coding program and competition is held to encourage more participating in Technical Development and scholarship are also awarded for meritorious students.
